The Housatonic River
The Housatonic River is approximately 149 miles long and runs through western Massachusetts and western Connecticut, passing through New Milford. The river’s name is derived from the Mohican phrase “usi-a-di-en-uk”, translated as “beyond the mountain place”. The river has been a source of power for paper, iron, textiles, and electricity industries and is relationally used today for boating, whitewater paddling and fishing.
High quality art print of my original acrylic painting, available in two sizes.
